I have a Notch Builder Learning license purchased with 0.9.x
However, when I go to my account > My licenses, it’s no longer available!?
Neither in the Builder 1.0 tab nor in the Builder 0.9.23 tab.
I’m not sure why that is, but if you get in contact with support on email and share your user name/email, they can look it up for you.
Does this mean I can no longer use it?
No, there are no changes to PLE/Learning - it will keep working as a perpetual license for 0.9.23
There is also no longer any mention of this license on your website.
We no longer sell PLE/Learning. You can read about why and how 0.9.23 will be supported in the future in our manual.
When I try to launch the trial, I must have updated CodeMeter, but the validity of my license is not displayed and the splash screen closes.
The launcher won’t even launch the beta.
That sounds like an issue you should contact support about. There’s no link between the new trial (which uses a new, software-licensing system) and PLE/Learning. One tip is to make sure you’re on the latest version; I know there was an updated build just a few days ago.
Am I to understand that you are forcing your customers to switch to a renewable Indie license but still riddled with limitations?
We are not forcing anyone to move away from PLE/Learning if they want to stay on that (see the aforementioned manual entry).
As for comparing PLE/Learning and Indie… Indie is a much more capable license that also enables the use of 1.0, a much more capable software. For one, it does not use a hardware dongle license and can be used on two PCs simultaneously, and it also enables higher-resolution image and video exports (without watermarks; all PLE/Learning exports had watermarks). Add the massive technological leap of 1.0 over 0.9.23 when it comes to rendering features and capabilities, they cannot really be compared.
I urge you to take the 1.0 trial for a test and see the difference for yourself (once the startup issues are sorted with support of course). Out of curiosity: what were you using PLE for previously, considering it was a learning-focused license with many limitations, compared to Base and Pro.
