Rigged bodies from Mixamo

I’m trying out some different 3d rigged characters by Adobe Mixamo.
Some are working fine in connection with a Kinect, but some are acting strange.

Are there differences between the characters?
Or is there an another way to get them working?

It is likely that the number of bones is what makes a difference, Kinect does not use fingers, so if your model comes in with finger bones it may throw off the Kinect skeleton reader.
