I have to make an installation with three walls projected in an immersive and rectangular format, I have a Hokuyo UST-20LX lidar to cover the entire installation.
I have attached a couple of renders of what the place looks like.
Will it be enough to create particles that follow people walking through the facility?
On the other hand, is there any way that when they approach the wall they can shoot some videos?
With the LiDAR sensor on the ground, you should have enough coverage to use those points as a tracking reference for your particles. It would be wise testing this to find the best range and position here to achieve the desired results.
For triggering video you could set up a Hot Zone system which, when detecting a point from the LiDAR Array entering the bounds, plays the video for a desired length before resetting for the next trigger event.
Here’s a few examples on how to do this. Hot Zone Video Retrigger.dfx (2.3 MB)
