Hi there,
I would like to slow down and undo playback on a captured camera like a time stretch node.
Any suggestions on how to do this?
Thanks in advice.

I looked into this, and it’s a bit challenging to achieve because you want to affect a live video input. After some exploration, the best option would be to use a Frame Loop node. This node allows you to store a number of frames over time and, once activated, loops the stored frame buffer.
This approach enables you to slow down the playback within the node.
Alternatively, if you are using Notch blocks, you might be able to achieve this with the media server.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the reply!
This is my first time using Frame Loop Node!
Am I right in saying that the amount of time entered into the Frame Buffer Size is used to slow the playback backwards in time?
Ideally, it would be possible to slow down playback without going back in time, but I guess that’s difficult.
I will present this idea to the client first.
Incidentally, I plan to Export with Notch Block and play with Resolume.
Thanks for the great idea!
Hi Yumi,
Its not going to be possible to slow down a live input without ending up behind real time.
You’d need some kind of transition to get you out of the frame loop and back to real-time.
Hi Graham,
Thanks for the reply!
I’ll have them change it to a different effect.
