Anchor point for cloner

I’m looking to use the technique outlined in this quick tip video:

It seems as though the shape 3D he is using somehow has its anchor point at the bottom of the shape rather than the default of being in the centre. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to apply this. Searches in this forum seem to show that only by using a Null can you effectively change the anchor point of a 3D object - but the Clone to Transform Array node won’t create clones from a Null.
So the effect I’m getting when I apply the CSV table to the Array - is that the affected clones simply scale from their centre point - rather than ‘growing’ from the ground plane.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The trick here is that cloner nodes generate transforms to copy geometry to - but you can offset the geometry from that transform. So you can just move the object 0.5 up and it will stretch like it did in that tutorial.

And for the record - we will have custom pivot controls in 1.0.
