How to work with "colour value generated by the affector"

I would like to work with primitive affector affecting also the colour of the particles as they move toward it.
I’m seing a parameter called weigth colour but I wonder how to use it. Can you enlight me about it?

I believe that property is from a legacy version of the tool, must have not been taking out. Whatever you’d like to do with it, the correct option will be to look into the shading nodes - distance shading sounds like the right node for your use case.
