Compression - optimal vs best

hi! I have been using Notch for a while with Optimal compression, but I have doubts on when to use Best. As the manual says, Optimal will work most of times. Knowing that it will depend on the type of content / project needs, I would really appreciate hearing about cases where Best really made a difference. I am usually working with carplates. Thanks!

The differences between Optimal and Best for NotchLC boil down to several internal quality thresholds. The visual quality will be higher but it won’t be very noticeable.
The largest factor to consider here is file size - You’d be looking at roughly a 20-25% increase between the two quality settings.

Thanks for the answer! I understand the file size difference, but what would also be useful to know is if there are any specific conditions where Best should be the first option. i.e. daylight vs night carplates, flat compressable content with contrasted elements… Maybe someone who has already had this need could share its experience
